Slip Testing Wales exists for one reason: to give Welsh duty-holders, lawyers, insurers and regulators a defensible, reproducible PTV reading that they can rely on in any court, any renewal, any HSE conversation.
We are a trading division of Surface Performance Ltd — a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory (Schedule No. 7933) covering the full length and breadth of the UK and Ireland, with dedicated coverage of Wales through this dedicated Welsh practice.
We do not sell flooring. We do not sell anti-slip treatments. We do not install surfaces. Our only product is independent, verifiable PTV data — and the UKAS accreditation framework depends on keeping it that way.
Our accreditation.
Every report we issue is produced under UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation (Schedule No. 7933) — the internationally-recognised standard for testing laboratories. In practice, that means:
- Every piece of test equipment we use is traceably calibrated
- Every technician is independently audited and trained
- Every testing procedure is written down, reviewed, and audited annually by UKAS assessors
- Every report we issue is admissible in UK civil court proceedings
Who we work with.
Our typical Welsh client is a business, landlord, insurer or legal representative dealing with the consequences of a slip risk — present or past. That ranges from Cardiff retail groups protecting a 40-store portfolio to Pembrokeshire holiday let owners defending an individual claim; from NHS Wales trusts documenting their clinical estate to Valleys local authorities managing leisure centres.
How we work across Wales.
Engineers are mobilised to attend anywhere in Wales — all 22 principal areas, all 157+ commercial settlements, from Anglesey to the Monmouthshire border. Site attendance is typically within 7–14 working days of booking; urgent post-incident testing can be arranged within 72–96 hours.
